How can my firm entitle additional users?
If the Security Administrator at your firm has already registered with NASDAQ® to obtain access to the Secure Data on NASDAQ TraderSM but needs to request additional logons and certificates for new users, please follow the procedures listed below.
The Security Administrator at your firm must contact NASDAQ Web Security Help Desk at 212.231.5180 to request a user ID, password, and certificate for a new user. He/she will be asked to submit either a written request or a signed contract listing the name and e-mail address of the new user.
Upon receipt of the written request, NASDAQ will e-mail to each new user a unique user ID and password as well as a Web address (or URL) from which the certificate can be accessed.
Accompanying the user ID and password are certificate downloading instructions.
What does the "Object Moved" message mean?
This message is due to a 'bug' with the Microsoft Internet Operating System. As soon as Microsoft fixes it, we will too. In the interim, simply click on the link to access the requested page.
Compliance Report Cards
What are Compliance Report Cards?
Compliance report cards allow market participants (MPs) to view their compliance with specific obligations in relation to other firms of the same peer group and in relation to the industry. These reports help MPs to comply with NASD rules, to better police themselves, and to supervise their own activities. The detailed criteria for each report card is available from a link to the right of the selection criteria on each response page.
When are new monthly report cards available?
New monthly compliance report cards will be posted to the Web site on the 28th or the following business day of each month.
How does the detail data report process work?
Once you place a request for a detail data report, you will be notified by email when the report is ready to be accessed. Your request will be completed in 48 hours, and in most instances the report will be available in a few hours. The detail data is provided in a self-extracting comma-delimited text file (.csv). You can import this type of file into a spreadsheet or database application of your choice. All the detail data reports that you request will be archived for 30 days from the time the request is complete so that you have access to the report through the site without having to request it again.

Historical Research Reports
How does a report request work?
For the Market Maker Price Movement Report (MMPMR), SelectNet Activity Report, SuperSoes Activity Report, SuperMontage Activity Report and Equity Trade Journal, enter an issue symbol, report date, and market participant ID (optional) and then, click Submit Request. For the Equity Trade Journal Download and the Daily MP Position Download, enter a report date and then, click Submit Request. For the MMPMR Plus and the Time and Sales with Inside Quote Report, enter an issue symbol and report date and then, click Submit Request. A page will appear asking the user to confirm the request or cancel the request. Once the request is confirmed (Click OK), the report will be processed within 48 hours. When the report is ready, the user will receive an e-mail from NASDAQ Trader with a link to the report request page from where the user can access the report. The Historical Research Request page also contains an index of all the reports requested by users at a firm during the current month and previous month along with the status of each report (e.g., Pending, Available, or Deleted). Users at the firm can view all the reports requested by their firm. A report will remain "Available" for 48-hours after the requesting user views or downloads it, or until the end of the following month if the user has not yet accessed it. A report will be "Deleted" 48 hours after the user accesses the report. If another user at the firm has opened the report, but the user requesting the report has not, it will still be considered unopened¾Available.
What is an MMPMR?
MMPMR details a Market Maker's quote updates (price and size) for a NASDAQ® security on a specified date or a selected period of time on a specific date. The report also includes the inside bid and ask at the time of each quote update. The MMPMR is not proprietary, other market participant's (MP's) quotes for a given trading day may be obtained. What is an Equity Trade Journal (ETJ)?
The Equity Trade Journal details a Market Participants ACT-reported trade (record) for a single NASDAQ or Exchange listed issue for the date requested. The .html format consists of two rows of information, the stacked information relates to the stacked column heading at the top of the report. The .ascii and .csv versions contain the same data fields, but the field labels are provided as column headings, and the data is presented in columns, not as rows. What is an Equity Trade Journal (ETJ) Download?
The Equity Trade Journal Download details all of a Market Participant's ACT-Reported trade activity for all NASDAQ, OTCBB, or Exchange listed issues for the date requested. A detailed explanation of the codes used within the report is available here.
How do I use the MMPMR/MMPMR Plus and Equity Trade Journals?
After reviewing the report, it is recommended that the report be saved by using the menu items File/Save on the browser. Save the report on a local directory for future review.

The SelectNet Activity Report consists of all orders a firm has participated in within an issue for a given day. What is a Time and Sales with Inside Quote Report?
This report details all of the trades (Time & Sales) of a requested security for a specific date as well as all the Inside Quote changes for the issue. The report includes the time, price, and volume of each trade for the requested date. This report also provides a record of changes to the inside quote (highest bid, lowest ask) for the requested issue for the requested date. What time periods are the reports available?
The reports can be requested as outlined below:
MMPMR - from 5 years back to the previous trading day.
MMPMR Plus - from 5 years back to the previous trading day.
Equity Trade Journal - for NASDAQ Issues from 5 years back to the previous trading day. For NYSE Issues from August 1, 2003, and for AMEX Issues 5 years back.
Equity Trade Journal Download- from 5 years back to the previous trading day.
SelectNet Activity Report - for historical purposes only, back to June 2001. This report was replaced by the SuperMontage Activity Report after all issues were phased-in to the SuperMontage system.
SuperSoes Activity Reports - for historical purposes only, back to March 17, 1997. This report was replaced by the SuperMontage Activity Report after all issues were phased-in to the SuperMontage system.
SuperMontage Activity Report - for historical purposes only, from October 1, 2002 to February 9, 2007. Please note, issues were phased in over a period of time to SuperMontage. Please see Head Trader Alert #2002-100, for more information on the phase-in of SuperMontage Issues. Additionally, since NASDAQ Systems Integration in 2006 and 2007, this report is no longer available for NASDAQ issues as of October 30, 2006 and for other Exchange listed issues as of February 12, 2007.

Monthly Volume Summaries
What are Monthly Volume Summaries?
The Monthly Volume Summaries combine all of the reported daily trade data and calculate a total for a requested month. In addition to total share and block volume, the reports are available by industry sectors and issue types.
When are new Monthly Volume Summaries available?
The previous month's reports will be available on or around the tenth business day of the subsequent month.
What is the criteria for inclusion to an industry sector?
The issues are separated by the type of index in which they are included. An issue in the Computer sector is part of the NASDAQ Computer Index®.
What does the "Number of Issues" mean in relation to the market participant (MP)?
This represents the number of issues in which the MP reported volume in the given sector for the requested month.
What does the "List of Issues" page represent?
These pages contain a list of issues categorized by the requested industry sector as of the previous trading day.
Regulatory Transaction Fee Report
How does the Regulatory Transaction Fee report request work?
Enter in the clearing firm number. This clearing number must be associated to your firm.
A page will appear asking the user to confirm the request or cancel the request. Once the request is confirmed (Click OK), the report will be processed within 48 hours.
When the report is ready, the user will receive an e-mail from NASDAQ Trader with a link to the report request page from where the user can access the report.
The Regulatory Transaction Fee Report Request page also contains an index of all the reports requested by users at a firm during the current month and previous month along with the status of each report (e.g., Pending, Available, or Deleted). Users at the firm can view all the reports requested by their firm. A report will remain "Available" for seven days from the completion date. A report will be "Deleted" regardless if the user has downloaded the file, seven days after the completion date. If another user at the firm has opened the report, but the user requesting the report has not, it will still be considered "Available".
What is the time period of data I can request?
Regulatory Transaction Fee Reports are available on a T+2 basis. That is, data corresponding to the first business day of the month will be available on the third business day of the month. Data will be available for a total of three calendar months. This includes all the days available for the current month and all the data for the two previous months. For example, On September 27, 1999, data will be available for July 1st through September 23rd.
Who can request these reports?
Access to the reports is provided to firms that are billed for clearing trades. Not all firms clear their own trades and therefore are not granted access to these reports. If a firm has any clearing questions, they should contact their clearing firms. Once access is granted, each subscriber will be able to request 30 reports a month for any Clearing Number associated with the firm.
What is the date criteria for the reports?
The report date is based on the Transaction Applied Date field titled 'Trans Applied Date'. This is the date that the trade was billed on. This date can be different from the actual trade date whcih is titled 'Activity Date'. If a trade is suspended, due to conflicts in the trading arrangements between two firms, it is possible to see a trade with a very old 'Activity Date' within a report with a recent 'Trans Applied Date'.

ACT Recap Report
How does the ACT Recap functionality on NASDAQTrader.com work?
As an entitled and enrolled subscriber you will have access to the ACT Recap messages that are currently sent at the end of the day via the CTCI line you have installed at your firm. You will be able to manually download a self-extracting .zip file, which will result in a text file containing all of your firm's:
End-of-Day Participant Recap (TCRC),
Short Form Clearing Recap (TCSR)
, and
Clearing Firm End-of-Day Recap (TCFR and TTFR) CTCI messages.
Once saved to a local server, the data can be imported to a firm's database or mainframe system tasked to process CTCI messages.
What is the time period of data I can access? ACT Recaps will be available for download at approximately 10:30 p.m. of the day the report represents.
Three rolling days of ACT Recaps will be available. This timeframe represents the T+3 Clearing Cycle. Two rolling weeks of requests will be displayed.
All CTCI Recap firms will have a file generated for them. A report will remain "Available" for three days from the Trade date. After the three day period, the report will be marked as "Deleted" if the user has downloaded the file, if the user has not downloaded the file, it will be marked as "Discarded".
Who can request these reports?
Access to the reports is provided to firms that are billed for clearing trades. Not all firms clear their own trades, and therefore, are not granted access to these reports. If a firm has any clearing questions, they should contact their clearing firms.

Daily MP Position Report Plus Download
What is the Daily MP Position Plus Download?
The Daily MP Position Plus Download contains all of the issues that all market participants had a registered position in for any given date. The report includes all end-of-day statuses for all MP Positions (Active, Suspended, Excused Withdrawn, Deleted, Functionally Excused, Functionally Suspended) for every NASDAQ Issue. The monthly fee to access this data is $150 a month, per user. If you already subscribe to a data product in Secure Data, you only need to download the

How do I work with these download files?
Due to the large amount of data, the download file is provided in a self-extracting compressed file (.exe). Inside the compressed file is an ASCII text file delimited by pipes (|).
