Market data vendors offer securities professionals and investors a window to
trading activity on The NASDAQ Stock Market® and OTC Bulletin
Board®
(OTCBB). Through vendor services, individuals and corporations may obtain
access to real-time quotation, trade, and market summary data for the major
global equity and options markets. In addition, vendors offer a variety of
value-added services such as market news, historical statistics, company
profiles, and analytical research.
Over 100 vendors are also authorized to distribute real-time NASDAQ®
market data to the public. To meet the needs of investors, vendors utilize a
variety of communication services to disseminate market data. Some of the
service options available include dedicated computer terminals, data feeds,
pagers, and the Internet.

NASDAQ TraderSM
offers direct Web links to real-time market data vendors as a service to its
users. To help facilitate the selection of a real-time data provider, the

Level 1
vendors provide the National Best Bid and Offer (NBBO) quotation, UTP
participant best bid and offer quotations, and last sale data for NASDAQ-listed
issues. Level 1 vendors also carry intra-day NASDAQ index values and OTCBB
quotation data. |

NQDS is used
in conventional Level 2 displays. NQDS provides only the top-of-file market
participant quotations from the NASDAQ Market Center. |
